Global wearables sales down 7%

International Data Corporation (IDC) reports that global demand for portable devices fell in the second quarter of this year. Apparently, this is due to the current geopolitical situation and high inflation.

IDC statistics include shipments of smartwatches, fitness bracelets, fully wireless headphones, etc. It is estimated that 107.4 million wearable devices were sold worldwide from April through June. This is 6.9% less than in the same period of the previous year.

In 2022, a total of 535.5 million wearables are expected to be sold worldwide. Roughly the same number of gadgets shipped last year.
