Gigabyte has previously registered in the register of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) several models of motherboards for future 12th generation Intel Core processors. One of the network informers was provided by first image of one of these boards. We are talking about the Z690 Aorus Elite AX DDR4 model.
As you know, the new Intel Alder Lake processors will be able to work not only with DDR4 RAM, but also with the new DDR5 RAM. Only motherboards based on the Intel Z690 chipset will receive support for both types of RAM. But manufacturers, it seems, will offer both models supporting only the current standard and new memory. Obviously a board called Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Elite AX DDR4 will only work with current DDR4 modules.
According to reports, the Z690 Aorus Elite AX DDR4 motherboard is equipped with a reinforced 19-phase 16 + 1 + 2 power subsystem, which is cooled by a massive heatsink located around the new Intel LGA 1700 processor socket. -black colors, and will also receive RGB-backlighting.
In the photo presented, you can also note the mention of the board with four M.2 slots for NVMe PCIe drives, support for the Wi-Fi 6 wireless data transfer standard and, more interestingly, the presence of a new PCIe 5.0 slot with 16 PCIe lanes reserved for installing a graphics accelerator.
According to the latest rumors, the 12th Gen Intel Core processors will begin shipping on November 4th. Probably, sales of motherboards based on the new Z690 chipset will start on the same day.
