Gigabyte announced a manufacturing defect in the Z690I Aorus Ultra boards – the company is willing to replace them or give your money back

Gigabyte has announced a recall of its Z690I Aorus Ultra motherboards due to a manufacturing defect. The manufacturer points out that he found comments from some owners of these boards who encountered problems with unstable PC operation and WHEA PCIe errors causing “Blue Screen of Death”. Symptoms are observed when graphics cards that support PCIe 4.0 are used with these cards.

Gigabyte advises that changing the PCIe bus mode to version 3.0 in the motherboard BIOS eliminates these symptoms but does not solve the problem as a whole. Therefore, the manufacturer offers owners of the Z690I Aorus Ultra to exchange the circuit board for the Z690I Aorus Ultra Plus model or an equivalent model free of charge or issue a refund.

The exchange or return program applies to all buyers of Gigabyte Z690I Aorus Ultra DDR4 and Z690I Aorus Ultra DDR5 boards purchased through official retailers. For owners of these boards who are in the process of requesting a refund or who have already issued a refund, the company also offers these replacement options. Exact details of the exchange or return program depend on the sales region.

The return or exchange program is valid from May 10, 2022 to November 30, 2022. Buyers of these boards must register on the Gigigabyte website via this linkand then use the feedback form to provide the required general information including motherboard serial number and proof of purchase e.g. B. a receipt from the store.
