New data on the performance of the GeForce RTX 4080 was shared by one of the users of the Chinese forum Chiphell. The test was conducted in the games Forza Horizon 5, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Cyberpunk 2077, Borderlands 3 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. A PC based on the Ryzen 7 7600X processor was used for testing.

Another user on the same forum provided performance data for the flagship GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card in a PC based on the Intel Core i9-12900F. With caveats for platform differences, this allows you to compare both accelerators in the same games. The GeForce RTX 4090 outperforms the GeForce RTX 4080 by 7.9 to 38.8 percent:

  • Forza Horizon 5 – 147 FPS vs. 127 FPS (+15.7%);
  • Shadow of the Tomb Raider – 179 FPS vs. 129 FPS (+38.8%);
  • Red Dead Redemption 2 – 129 FPS vs. 99 FPS (+30.3%);
  • Cyberpunk 2077 – 111 FPS vs. 83 FPS (+33.7%);
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – 137 FPS vs. 127 FPS (+7.9%).

The GeForce RTX 4080 graphics card will go on sale on November 16th. The card is equipped with an AD103 GPU with 9728 CUDA cores and 16GB of GDDR6X memory.
