Garmin has announced the latest model of its smartwatch, the Vivoactive 5, which features a lightweight design with an anodized aluminum frame and numerous activity tracking features. Vivoactive 5 is equipped with a 1.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 390 × 390 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The watch is waterproof up to 5 ATM, weighs only 23 grams and 36 grams with a bracelet.

The unveiled Vivoactive 5 watch can track sleep stages, heart rate, blood oxygen levels and stress levels. Thanks to the integrated GPS, the watch supports more than 30 modes for monitoring sports activities, as well as a range of exercises for users with reduced mobility. Vivoactive 5 can keep a training log and is ready to act as a personal trainer and coach, providing recovery time after training and meditation sessions.
Vivoactive 5 tracks the user’s energy levels and provides summary reports that reflect data on stress levels, physical activity and recovery periods. The NFC function enables the use of the Garmin Pay payment system. The watch pairs with iOS and Android devices and supports notification management.
The built-in memory has a capacity of 4 GB. The streaming services Spotify, Deezer and Amazon Music are supported. Additional watch faces and apps can be downloaded from the Garmin Connect IQ Store. The manufacturer promises a battery life of 11 days in standard mode and up to 21 hours with GPS turned on.
Garmin vivoactive 5 is available in black, white, pink and dark blue. The manufacturer has priced the smartwatch at $300.
