The Core i3-12100 chip differs significantly from the older Core i5 and Core i7 models of the Alder Lake series. It contains only four Golden Cove compute cores with support for eight virtual threads. The processor is not equipped with energy-efficient e-cores. The base frequency of the chip is 3.3 GHz and the maximum frequency on a single core can reach 4.3 GHz. There is also 12 MB cache memory on the 3rd level. The new Intel processor was tested in a PC with 32 GB DDR4 RAM at a frequency of 3600 MHz, an ASUS ROG Strix Z690-A D4 motherboard and a GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card. The Core i3-12100 processor achieved 1649 points in the single-threaded test of the synthetic Cinebench R23 benchmark, and 8474 points in the multi-threaded test. The increase in single-threaded and multi-threaded performance of the Core i3-12100 is 44.5 and 51%, respectively.
