Recall that since the inception of the series in 2005, the events of the Yakuza games have unfolded strictly in Japan and based on real prototypes of cities like Yokohama from Yakuza: Like a Dragon.

According to Hosokawa, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is thinking about transferring Yakuza stories outside the Land of the Rising Sun – to other countries with new locations to explore, battles to overcome and riddles to uncover.

Hosokawa also expressed the hope that the studio will be able to continue to release its games simultaneously around the world – Lost Judgment will be the first international release in Ryu Ga Gotoku’s history.

Previously, the creator of Yakuza Toshihiro Nagoshi (Toshihiro Nagoshi) confirmed the genre future of the series: in the coming years, the games “Yakuza” following Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be turn-based RPGs.
