From Demon’s Souls remake to God of War Ragnarok, new PS5 owners can get a Sony exclusive for free, but there’s a catch

To achieve record console sales this year, publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment has launched a new promotion – a free game as a gift with the purchase of a new PlayStation 5.

To participate in the program, you must activate your new PS5 after purchasing it, find an advertising banner in the PS Store and select your favorite game from the list provided.

It’s worth noting that full games and console exclusives from Sony Interactive Entertainment’s internal studios and third-party partners (Sumo Digital, Kojima Productions) are potential gifts.

The full list of free games to choose from is as follows:

  • Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales;
  • an updated version of Marvel’s Spider-Man;
  • God of War Ragnarok;
  • Horizon Forbidden West;
  • Director’s Cut of Ghost of Tsushima;
  • Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart;
  • demon souls;
  • The Last of Us Part I;
  • Sackboy: A Big Adventure;
  • Return;
  • Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection (includes remasters of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy);
  • Director’s Cut of Death Stranding.

What’s noteworthy is that, in addition to their blockbuster status (with a few exceptions), the games listed also have a corresponding price: outside of sales, many of them cost $70.

Unfortunately, Sony Interactive Entertainment is offering new PS5 buyers the chance to save on one of its exclusives exclusively in the USA. The promotion lasts until October 20th.

As for the potential record, Sony hopes to surpass the original PlayStation’s 25-year-old record (22.6 million) and sell 25 million PS5 consoles in the current fiscal year.
