Framework has designed and manufactured a modular 13-inch laptop that is designed to be easily repaired and upgraded. Now the manufacturer has launched an online store through which spare parts and modules for upgrading the device will be sold.
Framework said the store currently focuses on laptop replacement parts and components, but the company will soon be adding more personalization components, such as keyboards with different layouts, as well as modules developed by third parties, to it. This is an important step for Framework, whose laptop has been on the market for about two months now. After all, it does not matter how good the maintainability of the device is, as long as there were no spare parts for it on the free sale.

The store already has a number of Framework laptop expansion cards that are designed to fit in four dedicated bays. Some of them allow you to increase the storage capacity, while others allow you to add connectors. Laptop RAM modules are also available, which users can replace themselves. In addition, the store offers a number of other components, including displays, batteries and even motherboards. True, the latter are not yet available.
Framework Company has made a good start in the market, bringing its modular laptop plans to the finished product stage. Prices for the device start at $ 999. For this money, buyers will receive an Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor, 8GB of DDR4 RAM and a 256GB drive, and, of course, a modular design. Customers looking to save money can purchase a computer for $ 749, which will need to be upgraded after purchase.
