In line with the emerging trend of India’s growing role in contract manufacturing of electronic devices, the head of the local representative office of Taiwan’s Foxconn Technology Group assured the country’s prime minister that the company will double the size of its business in India and proportionally increase the number of in employees hired over the next 12 months.

The relevant statement from V Lee, as explained Bloomberg, created on LinkedIn on the eve of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. According to a Foxconn representative, the company is “We will work even harder to give an even more meaningful birthday gift next year.”. The Taiwanese electronics maker’s plans include doubling its workforce in India, foreign direct investment and increasing the size of its overall local business.
At least the plan calls for building a 120-hectare facility near Bangalore airport that will employ about 100,000 people. Foxconn will probably focus on contract manufacturing of iPhones for Apple. We would like to remind you that the Taiwanese company has not lost hope in finding a technology partner to start the production of microcircuits in India. In total, Foxconn operates more than 30 companies in this country that offer jobs to tens of thousands of employees. The company can already earn up to $10 billion a year from its operations in India.
