Fortnite no longer supports operating systems older than Windows 10

The American publisher and developer Epic Games has announced that users of older Microsoft operating systems will no longer be able to play Fortnite. To run the popular shareware Battle Royale, you need a computer with Windows 10 or later installed.

“As previously announced, Battle Royale Chapter 4 Season 2 and later players must be running Windows 10 or later in order to continue playing Fortnite on PC in an officially supported manner. Windows 7 and 8 are not officially supported in Fortnitewrote the developers microblog Project.

Recall that late last year it was announced that Epic Games would pay $520 million to settle the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) charges. The American publisher and developer is accused of violating the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act by collecting personal information from users under the age of 13 without the knowledge and consent of parents.

The amount also included a $245 million fine for using tricks or non-intuitive user interface elements (called dark patterns) that encourage players to make unintended purchases.
