Former Cyberpunk 2077 director and other CD Projekt RED veterans set up a new studio and reveal concept art for their apocalypse game

The studio regiment created by people from CD Projekt RED has been replenished. The new project will be led by Mateusz Kanik, one of the development leads for Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Remember that Kanick left CD Projekt RED in January 2022. As it turned out, the plan is to found their own studio in February 2023 with other former employees of the Polish studio Empty.

empty. (yes, with a dot in the name) is based in Warsaw and currently employs 10 people, but intends to grow 6x to develop its debut project.

In addition to Kanik, the founders of Blank. are former executive producers of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Jędrzej Mróz and Marcin Jefimov. They occupy a similar position in the new studio.

Next to people from CD Projekt RED in Blank. There are former employees of other Polish studios, including 11 Bit Studios, Artificer and Division48 Studio (specializing in animation).

empty team aims to cater to gamers “Great games and unique experiences that push new areas over the beaten track”. This studio needs a technical lead and an environment artist.

Currently empty. is working on his debut project – a previously unnamed story game set in the wake of the apocalypse. Promise “trick or two”. The first concept art of the development is pinned above.
