“For this money you can buy Palworld”: Blizzard outraged fans with a paid set of color portals for Diablo IV

Blizzard Entertainment’s fantasy action role-playing game Diablo IV pleased fans with many aspects, but monetization was not one of them. Recently, fans were outraged by a new element of content support for the game.

We are talking about the Dark Pathways set, released at the end of January, which includes five multi-colored portal variations – one for each character class – and 1000 units of platinum (premium currency).

As the portal noted GamesRadarattention to the paid kit the other day attracted Reddit user Mwatki20: “$20 for colorful portals? Don’t make me laugh at my pantaloons [Blizzard]!

The situation turned out to be even worse, because in fact, “Dark Paths” costs all of $30, that is “almost half the cost of the game”. Gamers are already found the amount of use is better: “For this money you can buy Palworld… just saying…”

Fans were outraged not only by the high cost of the set, but also by class restrictions on the use of portals: “I wouldn’t mind paying $5 for this. But $30 for a portal that maybe two of my classes would benefit from? No way”.

Players agree that Blizzard knew what does it look like when I set this price for a set of color portals: “There are clearly smart people at Blizzard. The one who buys these items is stupid.”.

Diablo IV was released in June 2023 on PC (, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and reached Steam in October. The game is currently in its third season, and the release of the first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, is announced for the end of 2024.
