Final Fantasy XIV has become the most profitable part of the series, and the game’s audience grows to 24 million people

According to Yoshida, since the initial launch of Final Fantasy XIV – 11 years – its audience has grown to 24 million users, but at the start of the project, such indicators were not dreamed of.

Recall that the version of Final Fantasy XIV, which debuted in September 2010, was so poorly received that Square Enix had to close it and restart it – this is how Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn was born in 2013.

“You all know how difficult it was with the original Final Fantasy XIV. Since then, we have transformed the game, and now it makes a significant contribution to our company’s bottom line. “Yoshida said.

Moreover, Final Fantasy XIV even turned out to be the most profitable game in the series. Yoshida did not go into details, but he assured that Square Enix would not save on the project and would continue to invest in it.

Final Fantasy XIV is currently gearing up to launch another major expansion, with the Endwalker expansion introduced in February to complete an important storyline for the game.

Final Fantasy XIV is available on Steam (Windows, macOS), PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker will go on sale November 23 this year. Earlier, Yoshida promised that the addon will be released as polished as possible.
