As has been revealed, cross-play trials will take place in online seasons and online friendlies on PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and Google Stadia. The launch is scheduled for “near future”.
As the test begins, a widget will appear in the lower-right corner of the FIFA 22 main menu (opened by the button that appears on screen) that allows you to toggle crossplay on and off.
To join a friend from another platform, you need to add that user to your friends list via the widget. From here (or in Friendlies mode) a friend can be invited to the game.
FIFA 22 debuted in October 2021 on PC (Steam, Origin), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Google Stadia. PS Plus subscribers in May can get the project for free.
