Ubisoft’s much-anticipated open-world shooter Far Cry 6 is less than a day away from release, and the Metacritic site has already begun filling reviews for the upcoming game.
By the time the material was published, Far Cry 6 had accumulated 55 ratings: for the version for Playstation 5 had 26 reviews, Xbox Series X and S – 18, on PC – nine, and on Playstation 4 and Xbox one – one by one.
Far Cry 6’s average rating varies from 75 (PS5) to 81% (Xbox Series X and S). It seems that with each number part in recent years, critics like Far Cry less and less: from 80 to 85% from Far Cry 4 and from 78 to 82% from Far Cry 5.
Far Cry 6 captivated critics with the beauty of the tropical Yara, the acting of Giancarlo Esposito, the sheer amount of content and other elements characteristic of the games in the last 10 years, such as skillful shooting.
Of the minuses of Far Cry 6, the reviewers highlighted the almost complete absence of changes in the basic formula, the plot lacking stars from the sky, weak villains, a stereotyped open world, stupid AI and technical problems.
3DNews author Alexei Likhachev also admitted that the series needs changes, but he was satisfied with the game: “Although the villains have pumped up this time, and there are not many innovations, the gameplay is still terribly addicting – especially in co-op.”…
Far Cry 6 goes on sale tomorrow, October 7, for PC (Uplay, EGS), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, as well as Google Stadia and Amazon Luna. Like the two previous parts, the sixth has its own secret alternative ending.
