Publisher Play on Worlds and developer Brazilian Orbit Studios (Retro Machina, Haunted House) have announced the release date of their Metroidvania Ebenezer and the Invisible World. The announcement was accompanied by a gameplay trailer.

Ebenezer and the World Unseen is a fantasy reinterpretation of Charles Dickens’ fairy tale A Christmas Carol: A Christmas Ghost Story.
According to the plot, Ebenezer Scrooge and a team of allied spirits must rescue London from the clutches of wealthy industrialist Caspar Malthus and his militant private guard.
Using the unique abilities each spirit bestows on Ebenezer, players must explore the far reaches of London and uncover the sinister influence of the Dark Spirit and an army of unrepentant spirits.
The developers promise a Victorian London divided into several boroughs, a non-linear map, tragic stories and unique quests for each allied spirit.
Among other things, Ebenezer and the Invisible World features secret areas and rare materials to unlock new items and abilities, as well as hand-drawn graphics.
As has been announced, Ebenezer and the Invisible World will be available for PC on November 3rd this year (steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S and Nintendo Switch. Only English language support is specified.
