Remember that after the beginning of the great winter Fimbulwinter, the Spartan Kratos and his son Atreus will travel to all Nine Realms of Scandinavian mythology, while the troops of Asgard prepare for the prophesied battle that will bring an end to the universe.

As it became known from Henderson’s publication, in the new adventure Kratos and Atreus will face representatives of 11 different factions, including humans, animals, monsters, giants and gods.

The full list of factions in God of War Ragnarok according to Henderson is as follows:

  • Aces – supreme gods, rulers of the Nine Worlds;
  • Vanirs are also gods, but losers in battle with the Æsir;
  • Jotuns – the last giants hiding after the Genocide of Odin to pass on their knowledge;
  • Gnomes are masters of forging legendary armor and weapons;
  • Elves (dark and light) – fight among themselves for control of the Light of Alfheim;
  • Ether – spirits and souls that wander between the Nine Realms;
  • reanimated corpses from the overflowing soulstream of Helheim – doomed to wander the Nine Realms;
  • Humans are described as scavengers;
  • seydr—humans too, but corrupted by higher magic;
  • Monsters and beasts – creatures from Scandinavian mythology and only animals (aggressive and peaceful).

As Henderson points out, most of these factions were featured in the previous game in the series, 2018’s God of War, but there are newcomers as well. Some of them flashed in a recent story trailer.

Previously, Henderson said that taking into account side quests, the passage of God of War Ragnarok will stretch for 40 hours, more of which will include more than four and a half intro videos.

God of War Ragnarok is coming to PS4 and PS5 on November 9th. They promise a mystical journey through all nine worlds, familiar (boat) and unfamiliar (dog harness) vehicles, and an unprecedented trial for Kratos.
