As of December 28, open-world action role-playing game Elden Ring leads the way with 145 Game of the Year awards (151 if counting disqualified portals).
In second place, far behind (26 awards), is the action film God of War Ragnarok. The interactive film trilogy Immortality (4), the historical crime thriller Pentiment (3) and the role-playing game Citizen Sleeper (2) also received multiple awards.
Several projects won another “Game of the Year” (in alphabetical order):

- Marvel’s Midnight Suns;
- neon white;
- NORCO;
- A Plague Tale: Requiem;
- PowerWash simulator;
- Sniper Elite 5;

It is worth noting that at the moment not all “Games of the Year” have been counted by ResetEra users and some portals have not yet managed to hand out awards, but given the gap God of War Ragnarok is unlikely to be able to do so is to get ahead of Elden Ring.
Disqualified publications include fan forums like Reddit that are specialized (genre, region, platform) or run by one person and also don’t have their own website.
Most Game of the Year Awards in 2021 got Co-op platformer It Takes Two (86), while Resident Evil Village (60) and Forza Horizon 5 (54) caught up.
