Fall Guys hits 20 million players just 48 hours after going freemium

Epic Games and Mediatonic have announced that the Fall Guys project has attracted 20 million players just 48 hours after switching to a shareware distribution model.

Fall Guys is an action-packed battle royale where players take on the role of giant sentient beans as they attempt to become the winners in a series of competitive obstacle course matches. It was released on PC and PlayStation 4 in August 2020, followed by a June 21, 2022 release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

Now Fall Guys development studio said on Twitter that the project picked up in the first 48 hours after the shareware version was launched “unbelievable” 20 million players. And how reported Epic Games has more than doubled the number of active players from the previous record of simultaneously connected users (CCU) on PC.

Fall Guys fans are waiting for new content in the near future. The cosmetics from the sci-fi universe Halo will be available on June 30th for a limited time. In addition, Mediatonic Studio is also working on a level editor mode.
