The project description reads: “Frostpunk 2 is the sequel to the acclaimed BAFTA-nominated game that has created a completely new genre where survival and building are combined with strategy and management. The sequel takes place already 30 years after the snow catastrophe, but the Earth is still tormented by endless frost. Become the leader of a metropolis that needs resources and new sources of energy. After the end of the coal era, the salvation for the remnants of humanity should be the conquest of the Frostlands, where oil can be extracted. Change is not easy, and not all strata of society like new options for development. “

In Frostpunk 2, users will face conflicts between factions, in which different people with their beliefs have united. Players will have to maintain order and choose their own political line. And the growing cold and other external factors will complicate the management of the city.

The Frostpunk 2 announcement was commented on by the project development manager Jakub Stokalski. According to him, the sequel will be marked by an increased scale compared to the first part, and it will pay more attention to all aspects.

However, 11 bit studios has no plans to develop a direct sequel: “Our goal is to create a huge universe for the players, where you can endlessly make decisions, creating your own society and city to match it. And to disentangle the consequences, of course “

Stokalsky also mentioned that the sequel will have the same conflicts as in the first part, but now the players will also have to fight with “own nature“. What exactly we are talking about is still unknown.

Frostpunk 2 will be released on PC (Steam, EGS, GOG). Release dates were not disclosed.
