DLSS continues to improve thanks to the constant training of the neural network by the NVIDIA supercomputer. The update brings improvements to Super Resolution technology, DLAA anti-aliasing and DLSS frame generation.

Specific improvements in the areas listed include:

  • Frame generation – uses game engine data more efficiently, improving UI stability and image quality during fast movements;
  • Super Resolution – Improves fine detail stability and overall image quality in Ultra Performance mode;
  • DLAA – Improves image quality, reduces ghosting and improves anti-aliasing in high-contrast scenarios.

Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Portal with RTX will be the first to receive improvements. In the short clips provided by NVIDIA above and below you can see how the updates have affected the image quality of the first two games.

Fine Wine is expected to be released in the current quarter, i.e. by the end of March. The DLSS 3 updates listed are delivered with game patches and via GeForce Game Ready drivers from NVIDIA.

Wccftech notes that Super Resolution and DLAA improvements in DLSS games will also be available on older NVIDIA graphics cards, including the RTX 20 and 30 series.

Also confirmed at CES 2023 is that post-apocalyptic thriller Atomic Heart, survival MMO shooter The Day Before, and fantasy roguelite shooter Witchfire will all gain DLSS 3 support at launch.
