Update 7.0 will reportedly be available on March 8th. In addition to integration with Discord, the update will add support for launching PlayStation 5 games from streaming services, saving space on the console’s internal storage. This feature is being developed under the codename Cronus and will be available as part of a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription. The Cronus feature is currently in the testing phase.
According to the source, the public beta of the 7.0 update for the PlayStation 5 will be released in the coming days. It is noted that as part of the beta testing, integration with Discord will not be available. This means the benefits of Discord integration with the PlayStation won’t be available to users until March.
“Our teams work together to integrate Discord into your social and gaming experience on PlayStation Network. Our goal is to bring Discord and PlayStation closer together on consoles and mobile starting next year, so friends, groups and communities can connect, have fun and interact while they play.”– said in 2021 the head of the PlayStation Jim Ryan (Jim Ryan).
