As expected, Gustavsson’s new studio is called TTK Games and is based in Stockholm. TTK (Time to Kill) is a competitive shooting concept that indicates the time it takes to kill an opponent.

“For us, the term TTK encompasses not only the ability to find the ideal speed or feel, but also how humankind has spent millennia playing the game.”Gustavsson explained the choice of name for the studio.

In addition to Gustavsson (he is the studio’s creative director and CEO), three other DICE veterans are credited as founders of TTK Games:

  • Senior Design Director Daniel Berlin (Daniel Berlin) – worked at DICE on several Battlefields, including Battlefield 1;
  • CTO Vidar Nygren – joined DICE in 1996, where he led development of the Frostbite engine, among other things;
  • Art Director Peter Hoyles – joined DICE in 2003 and has worked on a number of Battlefield games.

TTK Games secured significant funding coupled with creative freedom. The Swedish studio is currently hiring for a number of hybrid roles.

The debut project of TTK Games will be a high quality next generation online shooter. What is meant by this is not yet clear, but the game will be made on the Unreal Engine (probably the fifth version).

“If you’ve been working on Battlefield for the last 23 or 24 years of your life, it’s very easy to think about what kind of game you need. We force ourselves to take a step back. We didn’t embark on this new journey to do the same.”insured Gustavson.
