Demand for smartphones has shifted towards expensive models: an average smartphone costs $ 310

Strategy Analytics predicts that wholesale prices for smartphones will rise 11% this year. As a result, the average cost of smart cell phones will peak since 2013.

At the end of last year, the average wholesale price of smartphones was $ 279. This year, this figure is expected to reach $ 310.

There are several reasons for the observed picture. In particular, devices with 5G support, which are more expensive than 4G models, are rapidly gaining popularity. In addition, the rise in prices triggered a global shortage of electronic components.

Plus, there is now an increased demand for smartphones with a price of $ 600 and above. The iPhone 12 family is very popular, as well as premium devices like the OnePlus 9 Series, Xiaomi 11 Series, OPPO Reno Series and Vivo X. Finally, Samsung’s flexible smartphones, which are very expensive, are making a contribution.
