Wireless charging is nothing new for a long time – some smartphones are even able to charge other devices themselves. Nevertheless, the possibility of charging smartphones and other devices with a laptop has not yet been used in their solutions. The first could be Dell, which has patented the corresponding process.

At the same time, application no. 20220239124 does not provide for the integration of charging coils into the laptop body itself. Instead, the wireless charging pad attaches to the laptop with magnets, and the pad is powered by a special pin on the computer itself.

Also, there is no sign yet that Dell intends to implement the patented solution in new products. It is known that some technologies registered with patent offices have been in the starting blocks for years.
