Recall that during a presentation to investors in October, CD Projekt announced that in the first week of Phantom Liberty’s release, which took place on September 26, more than 3 million people purchased the add-on.

It has been announced that more than 4.3 million copies of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty have been sold worldwide. CD Projekt estimates that around 20% of base game owners own the expansion.

“We are very pleased with the launch of Phantom Liberty. The successful release of the add-on together with patch 2.0, which brought many improvements, took the gameplay in Night City to a new level.”says CEO Adam Kicinski.

As for The Witcher 4, the game’s team, known by the codename Polaris, employed 330 people as of October 31, 2023 (end of July). a little less than 260), i.e. almost half of the entire studio staff.

This means that more people are working on the new Witcher than on any other project in CD Project RED. According to Kiciński, the Polaris team continues to grow steadily and is expected to reach the 400-person mark by mid-2024.

Polaris is a massive open-world RPG and the start of a new The Witcher trilogy. Publication is not expected until 2025 at the earliest. Nobody knows what the game will be called, but CD Projekt themselves seem to be calling it The Witcher 4.
