Chinese graphics cards Moore Threads received official support for DirectX 11

Chinese company Moore Threads reported about an important achievement. With the release of a new graphics driver version, its MTT S80 and MTT S70 discrete graphics cards now support games using the DirectX 11 Graphics API. In addition, the manufacturer has improved the DisplayPort MST and DSC performance of the cards, which gives the cards the ability to display 4K images with a refresh rate of 144 Hz.

One of the main disadvantages of Moore Threads Chinese graphics cards was their very weak software support. At the time of publication, they only partially support tessellation and multithreading in DirectX 11. DirectX 12, Vulkan and even OpenGL APIs are not supported at all, which greatly reduces the potential of their underlying MUSA architecture. However, the company is actively developing the software, ensuring compatibility with different games with each driver version.

With DirectX 11 support, the list of supported games has also grown. Now the MTT S80 and MTT S70 maps can run Genshin Impact, Dota 2 and even the 2011 version of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3. Humans Fall Flat, Euro Truck Simulator 2 and Cities Skylines are now also supported.

The full list of games supported by the latest MTT driver version 230.40 is as follows: Genshin Impact, Dota 2, Street Fighter V, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Euro Truck Simulator 2, Command & Conquer: Red Alert – Remastered, Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn – Remastered, Stellaris, Human: Fall Flat, Cities: Skylines, Football Manager 2023, BioShock 2: Remastered, Subnautica: Dave’s Journey, BattleBit Remastered.

While graphics cards still don’t offer support for games with more modern APIs like Vulkan and DirectX 12, the arrival of DX11 means that these cards may now attract more attention from local esports audiences in China, as esports games continue to rely heavily on DirectX11.

The company notes that it has also significantly improved the stability and performance of the new driver version and improved the graphics management application MTT PES Control Center. In particular, it became possible to install and uninstall the driver directly from this application, the utility acquired a library of installed games and received the function of automatically detecting the status of Resizable BAR.

Remember that MTT graphics cards are not sold outside of China. However, they can be purchased on various online trading platforms. They look great on paper. You can even run Crysis. In addition, the MTT S80 model is the only model on the market of gaming graphics accelerators equipped with a PCIe 5.0 interface. Unfortunately, poor software optimizations, such as high idle power consumption of graphics cards, and lack of support for modern APIs make buyers more likely to choose GeForce, Arc, or Radeon models.
