The paid Twitter Blue subscription, which in recent days has become the subject of jokes and memes, as well as a proliferation for scammers, is no longer available in the iOS application (it wasn’t in the Android version). And for some users who paid for it, the blue tick disappeared.
It is currently unclear what caused the next drastic change: another maneuver by Twitter’s new management or technical problems that were inevitable after laying off half the workforce. Previously, the Twitter Blue subscription was available in the iOS app’s sidebar, but now users have noticed that the corresponding menu item has disappeared.
However, for some it has survived, but when you try to navigate in it, a message appears: “Thank you for your interest! In the future, Twitter Blue will also be available in your country. Please come back later”. Application researcher Jane Manchun Wong reportedthat the ability to subscribe has even disappeared from the API.
Earlier today, the gray tick returned to the Twitter platform to show free account verification after the blue tick went on sale with a Twitter Blue subscription.
