Blizzard is “full of confidence” that Diablo IV will not break on release day

Diablo IV’s “beta” in March didn’t go too smoothly, but the server check in May showed itself much better: there were almost no queues for entry and the game started to work better. At this rate, the upcoming release of the project in June should not disappoint users.

In conversation with Eurogamer Diablo IV Associate Development Lead Joe Piepiora and Art Director John Mueller said the testing helped Blizzard Entertainment better understand its technical prowess and prepare for release.

According to the developers, the beta tests carried out were by no means marketing in nature: “Each ‘beta’ is the data we need to make the release run smoothly. That is the whole purpose of the tests we organized.”.

The game’s internal testing lasted over a year and included millions of automated accounts to simulate load. For all their usefulness, however, they cannot be compared to public tests. Betas are no trivial task, but Blizzard sees value in them nonetheless: “Now we are full of confidence”.

Diablo IV is out on PC (Battle.net), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S on June 6th, but unlocks on June 2nd for Premium Edition buyers. In anticipation of the release, Blizzard released a series of videos revealing the mythology of the game universe – the first volume (attached below) is already available.
