Biostar introduced the M800 PCIe 4.0 SSD NVMe series. The new series includes models with a volume of 512 GB, as well as 1 and 2 TB.
The manufacturer does not specify which storage controllers are used in the new products, but points out that these correspond to the NVMe 1.3 standard and support end-to-end encryption.
Sequential read speeds of up to 5000 or 2550 MB/s are specified for the 512 GB M800 drive model, 5000 or 4550 MB/s for the 1 TB model and 4800 or 4400 for the 2 TB version MB/s . New devices don’t come with heatsinks, so owners will have to provide additional cooling for these SSDs themselves if needed, but given their speeds, that’s unlikely.
The company is confident that the novelties will be of interest to both regular gamers and e-sports enthusiasts and streamers. The manufacturer did not provide any information on the cost and timing of the release of the solid-state NVMe drives of the M800 series.
