The free update is called Spider’s Thread and will initially bring the eponymous roguelite mode to Ghostwire: Tokyo, which will be separated from the story adventure and placed in its own main menu item.
Players must descend the spider’s thread and overcome 30 zones (collected from 130 “manual” levels), pass tests and earn upgrades. In the event of death, you will have to start the path all over again, but with some of the improvements already received.
Filling the spider’s thread update
Among other things, Spider’s Thread contains additional content for the main campaign: expanded story cutscenes and new locations (including a haunted school) with side quests.
In addition, the hero will get new combat techniques (such as a counterattack) and talismans, new enemies, photo mode options and the ability to cover particularly spooky effects with stickers depicting dogs.
Spider’s Thread will be released on April 12th on all Ghostwire: Tokyo target platforms, including the Microsoft Store (PC), Xbox Series X and S, and Game Pass (PC and Xbox), which joined the roster with this announcement.
Ghostwire: Tokyo debuted on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) and PS5 on March 25, 2022. According to the plot, Tokyo is almost completely abandoned, and the main character, Akito, reunites with the spirit and acquires magical abilities.
