We’re talking about the creative director of the franchise, Lars Gustavsson (Lars Gustavsson), who has been working on Battlefield since the early days and has even earned himself the nickname “Mr. Battlefield” has earned.

“I’ve dedicated a significant portion of my life to Battlefield and am immensely proud to have helped make the franchise what it is today. But I think it’s time for something new.”said Gustavsson.

With his departure, Gustavsson is passing the baton to the next generation of Battlefield developers at both DICE itself (where he is leaving) and neighboring studios: Ripple Effect, Industrial Toys and Ridgeline Games, which were announced yesterday.

Gustavsson joined DICE in January 2000 and has been involved in the creation of several Battlefields simultaneously: from the very first (Battlefield 1942) to the most recent (Battlefield 2042).
