ASUS ROG Phone 6D gaming smartphones debut with Dimensity 9000+ processor

ASUS has announced the ROG Phone 6D and ROG Phone 6D Ultimate smartphones designed for gamers. The innovations are based on the MediaTek hardware platform, and Android 12 with the add-on Zen UI is used as the operating system.

The devices are based on the Dimensity 9000+ processor. The size of LPDDR5X RAM for both new products is 16GB. The standard version has a 256 GB stick on board, the Ultimate model has 512 GB.

The AMOLED display measures 6.78 inches diagonally and has a FHD+ resolution. The refresh rate reaches 165 Hz, the response frequency of the touch layer is 720 Hz. We are talking about support for HDR10+ and about 111 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. Durable Gorilla Glass Victus protects against damage.

On the rear is a camera system with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 main sensor, a 13-megapixel wide-angle unit and a 5-megapixel macro module. The front camera uses a 12-megapixel Sony IMX663 sensor.

The equipment includes a Bluetooth 5.3 wireless adapter, an NFC controller, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, stereo speakers and a 6000 mAh battery with support for 65 watt charging. The dimensions are 173 × 77 × 10.3 mm.

The ROG Phone 6D Ultimate comes with a ROG Vision PMOLED display on the back, while the regular version comes with an RGB-backlit ROG logo. ROG Phone 6D and ROG Phone 6D Ultimate cost $910 and $1370 respectively. The older version includes the unique AeroActive Portal cooling system: it provides direct cooling of internal components with the AeroActive Cooler 6 cooler (included).
