The Taiwanese company ASUS and the Austrian manufacturer of cooling systems Noctua are preparing to release a new result of cooperation – the graphics accelerator ASUS GeForce RTX 3080 10GB Noctua Edition. Its feature is the cooling system, which includes two large 120mm fans from the Austrian brand.
Recall that the companies previously jointly released the ASUS GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua Edition, which has an unusual cooling system with two efficient, but at the same time very quiet 120mm NF-A12x25 fans. You can find more details about this accelerator in our review.
Noctua later confirmed that the cooperation with ASUS will continue and that new models of jointly developed graphics cards could appear on the market in the foreseeable future. It looks like that future is coming very soon. The VideoCardz portal shared images of the more productive ASUS GeForce RTX 3080 10GB Noctua Edition. It is strange that the manufacturers have opted for a model that has only 10 GB of video memory on board, although, remember, there is also a version with 12 GB of memory on the market.
The ASUS GeForce RTX 3080 10GB Noctua Edition borrows the design of the GeForce RTX 3070 with the same performance. The thickness of the GeForce RTX 3080 Noctua Edition is four expansion slots. The fans of the cooling system are apparently used in the same way as on the younger model. However, the heatsink of a more powerful card is more massive to match a more powerful GPU.
The technical characteristics of the graphics card are currently unknown. From the photos you can only see that the accelerator is equipped with two 8-pin power connectors and has received a non-standard set of external interfaces: three DisplayPort 1.4 and two HDMI 2.1. The board of the ASUS GeForce RTX 3080 TUF model most likely served as the basis for the card.
According to VideoCardz, the ASUS GeForce RTX 3080 10GB Noctua Edition costs 1150 euros, which is 250 euros more expensive than the GeForce RTX 3070 in the same version. There is no information on availability yet.
