ASUS introduced the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti graphics accelerators in the TUF Gaming and Strix LC versions. The first is equipped with a massive three-fan air cooling system, the second received a maintenance-free LSS with a 240mm radiator. Each model is presented in two variants – with a small and more significant factory overclocking.
The gaming frequency of the graphics chip version of the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti TUF Gaming is declared as 1860 MHz, which corresponds to the reference value. However, the new ASUS has a dual BIOS system, so when switching to the second firmware, the GPU frequency increases to 1890 MHz. On the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti TUF OC Edition, the GPU frequency increases when changing the BIOS mode from 1920 to 1950 MHz.
The GeForce RTX 3090 Ti TUF Gaming (OS) card received a 3.2-slot triple-fan cooling system. The dimensions of the novelty are 325.9 × 140.2 × 62.8 mm. In the shipping kits of each version of the accelerator, ASUS has provided an adapter from three 8-pin connectors to one 12+4-pin connector. Each version of the accelerator has four video connectors: three DisplayPort 1.4a and one HDMI 2.1.
The ASUS GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Strix LC is also available in two versions. With a small and more serious factory overclock (OS Edition). In the first case, the working frequency range of the new GPU is 1860/1890 MHz (for gaming and OC modes). The Strix LC OC Edition has the highest factory overclock of any GeForce RTX 3090 Ti variant from any manufacturer to date. The game frequency of the novelty is 1950 MHz, but in OC mode the threshold increases to 1980 MHz, which is 120 MHz higher than the reference.
In the records of video cards, the manufacturer also provided for the presence of an adapter from three 8-pin connectors to one 12 + 4-pin connector. The GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Strix LC (OS) measures 293 x 133 x 52 mm. In a PC case, the card occupies 2.6 expansion slots. The number of video ports has not changed: three DisplayPort 1.4a and one HDMI 2.1.
As mentioned above, Strix LC (OC) accelerators are equipped with a maintenance-free liquid cooling system with an external 240mm radiator. It is cooled by two 120mm fans. The cooler is connected to the water block and the pump installed on the graphics card via two 560 mm long hoses. A tangential fan installed on the graphics card provides additional cooling for the accelerator components.
ASUS does not specify the power consumption in their performance for any of the presented versions of the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, but recommends using 1000W power supplies with them.
