Nothing has been heard about the open-world RPG action Rise of the Ronin from Japanese studio Team Ninja (Nioh series) since it was announced, but new information and screenshots of the project are unexpected divided verified insider of The Snitch.
Rise of the Ronin takes place in Japan in the late 19th century. Players take on the role of a nameless ronin – a warrior without a commander who can act at his own discretion and make his own decisions.
According to The Snitch Discord, Rise of the Ronin is a mix of Assassin’s Creed, Ghost of Tsushima and Dark Souls, with many side quests in the spirit of Ubisoft games and an expansion of the world of item descriptions.
Among other things, the Snitch predicts difficulty levels, a skill tree and some techniques (probably military) in Rise of the Ronin. In addition, the protagonist will supposedly be able to form romantic relationships with some NPCs.
As for the technical component, the PS5 version of Rise of the Ronin will work in two modes: performance or quality. The Snitch adds that the studio is said to be trying to improve image quality ahead of release.
The insider also clarified the release date for Rise of the Ronin. The game is officially announced for 2024 and should be released in the first quarter (i.e. between January and March) according to The Snitch.
Rise of the Ronin is only confirmed for PS5, but since it’s exclusive to Sony consoles, it’ll also be coming to PC. Team Ninja promises “great” Travel, combat system with firearms, freedom of action and the consequences of decisions.
