ASRock has announced the flagship motherboards of the Z690 Aqua series for the latest Intel Core processors of the 12th generation. Both are based on the older Intel 600 series chipset. Innovations under the names ASRock Z690 Aqua “The Awakening” and Z690 Aqua OC “The Masterpiece” are aimed at fans of liquid cooling and lovers of manual overclocking.

The models are built on 12-layer circuit boards, equipped with powerful 20-phase power subsystems (VRM), as well as many features useful for those addicted to overclocking components.
The main difference between ASRock Z690 Aqua and Z690 Aqua OC is the number of DDR5 memory slots. The first has four, the second has two. Two DDR5 slots in the Aqua OC version were given up in favor of clock control functions that expand the functionality and subtlety of overclocking. Since these features are intended for the most advanced overclockers and there aren’t that many of them in the world, the company decided to release the Z690 Aqua OC in a very limited edition of 500 pieces.
