There are currently over 1.8 billion active Apple devices worldwide. This was announced by CEO Tim Cook during today’s financial report for the first quarter of fiscal 2022. This number is expected to equal or exceed 2 billion in a year.
This number includes all currently active iPhones, iPads, iPod Touches, Macs, Apple TVs, and Apple Watches. That is, we are only talking about devices that can connect to the Internet and do not consider devices such as classic iPods, for example. But objectively speaking, not many of these are already in use. Apple’s device base had 1.5 billion active devices as of January 2020. In January 2021, that number reached 1.65 billion.
Apple’s CEO did not name figures for individual devices, but smartphones are known to make up the lion’s share. Last year, Tim Cook reported that the number of active iPhones worldwide surpassed one billion.
