According to online sources, Apple intends to increase the amount of advertising displayed to Digital Content Store users on the App Store. Soon, ads will appear in the Today section and on individual application pages.
Reportedly, ads in the Today section appear large like other elements of this block. At the same time, they will have markings that will help to understand that it is an advertisement. Ads on individual app pages appear under the “You might also like” box, which shows apps similar to the one you’re currently viewing. As with App Store searches, ads on app pages are highlighted in blue to distinguish them from other recommendations.
“App Search Ads gives developers of all sizes the opportunity to grow their business. Like our other ad offerings, the new ad units are built in a similar way – they only contain content from App Store approved app pages and will adhere to the same strict privacy standards.”– Apple has commented on this issue.
It can be assumed that new ad units will be launched in test mode in the App Store in the near future. Recall that in 2016 Apple started showing advertising content on its App Store and later started asking users for permission to show personalized ads. The emergence of new ad units shows that Apple is looking for new ways to capitalize on the App Store, and advertising could become a more important business segment for the company in the future.
