Apple today hosted a virtual event that unveiled its new iPad and iPad mini tablets, Watch Series 7 smartwatches, iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini smartphones, and the flagship iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. Despite the fact that the presentation did not mention the software platforms iOS 15 and iPadOS 15, the date of their launch is indicated in a press release dedicated to the iPhone 13. Both operating systems will be available to users on September 20.
Note that iOS 15 can be installed on all iPhones and iPod touches that run iOS 14. This means that next week owners of iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE first generation, iPhone 7 will be able to install iOS 15. iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone SE 2nd generation, iPod touch.
While some expected features, such as SharePlay, will arrive with future updates and won’t be available in iOS 15 right away, the operating system is not without interesting features. One of them is the emergence of the Focus feature, which will allow you to set custom settings for notifications and the home screen.
Note also that iOS 15 will feature a brand new Weather app that allows you to view full-screen weather maps showing precipitation, air quality and temperature. You can customize the application interface to suit your preferences so that it displays only the information you want. In addition, part of iOS 15 will be an updated Safari browser, which has been redesigned.
