Apple services reach nearly 1 million paying subscribers – doubling in three years

Apple’s quarterly report makes it clear that without a noticeable increase in the number of customers who have paid subscriptions to the company’s services, revenue in the corresponding direction in the first three months of this year will not reach a record $ 20.9 billion -dollars could grow years ago, the number of paid subscribers to Apple’s services has almost doubled to 975 million people.

Along the way, Apple officials noted that the user base of all branded devices that stay active surpassed 2 billion people in the past year, and that number is now growing. About a billion people use Apple smartphones, so it’s not surprising that almost the same number of Apple customers have paid subscriptions to date. Compared to the first quarter of the previous calendar year, Apple’s device sales rose 5.5%.

In just three months, Apple’s paid subscribers grew by 40 million and over the past year by 150 million. Three years ago their number did not exceed 500 million people. According to CFO Luca Maestri (Luca Maestri), the commitment of users to the Apple ecosystem and a high level of satisfaction with the quality of service contribute significantly to the expansion of the user base towards services. According to CEO Tim Cook, the penetration of the user base with paid services in this area is not yet as strong as management would like, so there is still room for further growth.
