The Apple News app has a new Sports tab that gives sports fans quick access to game scores, league standings, news stories and more. The tab allows you to select your favorite teams and leagues to receive personalized messages. The new tab also allows you to quickly navigate to pages of sports competitions and upcoming events, competitions and more.
iOS 16.5 also includes fixes for some known bugs. We fixed an issue that was preventing content from loading in the Podcasts app in CarPlay. Fixes an issue where Screen Time settings might reset on the fly or not sync across all devices linked to the same account.
Additionally, iOS 16.5 includes fixes for numerous vulnerabilities, including three that were exploited by hackers. Two of the three vulnerabilities were fixed in the iOS 16.4.1 update, so they pose no threat to users who have this package installed. However, the third vulnerability exploited by hackers will only be fixed after installing iOS 16.5. We’re talking about a vulnerability in the WebKit engine, exploitation of which allows you to go beyond the isolated environment of web content, potentially opening up access to user data and the possibility of remote command execution.
