Apple’s decision to start selling refurbished iPhone 8s comes as a bit of a surprise, as consumers can pay an extra $80 to get a refurbished iPhone SE. Keep in mind that the iPhone 8 was launched alongside the iPhone X in 2017, it’s based on the A11 Bionic chipset, while the iPhone SE is based on the much more powerful A13. The iPhone 8 also differs from the newer iPhone SE in that it lacks QuickTake support, Portrait mode photography, Wi-Fi 6, Gigabit LTE, and eSIM.
The refurbished iPhone 8 is available in Space Gray. The device comes with a new battery, a new case and a new white box. In addition to the usual charging cable for new models, the refurbished iPhone 8 comes with a 5 W power adapter and wired EarPods with a Lightning connector. The device comes with the same one-year warranty as new iPhones. Users can purchase an extended AppleCare+ warranty at their discretion.
