Apple could sell 90 million new iPhones this year

At the previous quarterly meeting, Apple management did not express any serious concerns about demand for high-end smartphones, although industry analysts have been talking about a decline in interest in mass models overall for several months. Experts | Wedbush Securities have not revised their original forecast and still believe that Apple will have time to sell 90 million next-generation iPhones by the end of the year.

Recall that in the key markets of the US and China, the company has not increased the prices of iPhone 14 series smartphones, although in some regions new items are offered much more expensively than their predecessors. According to representatives of Wedbush Securities, buyers are ready to place pre-orders for iPhone 14 delivery, Apple will be ready to ship Pro models from mid-October, and the time frame is getting longer, which indicates high demand.

According to experts, out of around a billion Apple smartphones in use, up to 240 million are more than 3.5 years old and will therefore be modernized in the near future. This allows the authors of the analytical note to expect a sales volume of 90 million units this year alone. According to some projections, Apple is expected to take in about $415.8 billion in calendar year 2023, and about half of that amount will come from smartphone sales. In the current fiscal quarter, which ends in September, Apple could well exceed analysts’ expectations both in terms of the number of smartphones sold and in terms of revenue.
