The well-known Chinese benchmark AnTuTu published a ranking of smartphone performance for the last month of last year. The gaming leader has remained the Xiaomi Black Shark 4S Pro since its release in October, largely thanks to the flagship Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset and unprecedented 16GB of RAM.
According to AnTuTu, the “Top 10” flagships did not include any smartphones on the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 platform – “Because of insufficient data”… It is expected that in the next month, if enough devices with the new chipset are tested, the Moto Edge X30 and Xiaomi 12 Pro will take the top positions in the ranking – Apple products are not counted. In order to obtain average values, at least 1000 devices of the same model must run through the benchmark.
The only smartphone with a flexible display that made it into the top ten – Oppo Find N – only took fourth place. The rest of the foldable devices weren’t productive enough.
The Chinese platform has also published a list of the best mid-range smartphones. The competition is even tougher here and the Vivo iQOO Z5 takes first place in the ranking. It is noteworthy that 9 out of 10 mid-range smartphones are equipped with chipsets from the Snapdragon 700G series.
So far, we have only spoken of “raw” numbers when evaluating – in reality, the performance of mid-range smartphones hardly differs from model to model in this price segment. The ranking expects major changes in the second half of 2022, when the chip manufacturers begin to introduce new platforms based on new CPUs.
