Another major developer of Cyberpunk 2077 has left CD Projekt RED

Forum user Reddit under the pseudonym wifestalksthisuser drew attention to the fact that another prominent employee left the independent Polish studio CD Projekt RED at the beginning of this month.

We are talking about Mateusz Kanik, who has combined the duties of design director and chief designer at CD Projekt RED in recent years. The specialist announced the transition to freelance developers in Your LinkedIn profile

Last Tuesday – for the first time in almost eight years – Kanik had a new post in his Twitter… The message related to his departure from CD Projekt RED: “Something ends, something begins”

Kanik’s last project within the walls of CD Projekt RED was the action RPG Cyberpunk 2077. In the credits, the developer is listed as one of two gameplay design directors.

Kanik joined CD Projekt RED in December 2006 and has since been involved in all three numbered witchers. In total, the designer worked for a Polish studio for a little more than 15 years.
