Devolver Digital and Terrible Toybox (Thimbleweed Park) powered by Lucasfilm Games announced Return to Monkey Island is a continuation of the cult quest line.

Return to Monkey Island is a sequel to the first two games in the series, The Secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge, developed by game designers Ron Gilbert and Dave Grossman.
Gilbert and Grossman are responsible for the design and Return to Monkey Island. Will return to the roles of hapless pirate Guybrush Threepwood and actor Dominic Armato known from previous games in the franchise.
The trailer released to coincide with the announcement lasts less than a minute and apparently introduces the new game’s visual style. The project also has official teaser pagebut there is nothing to be done.
Return to Monkey Island is expected to be released later this year. However, target platforms will not be announced at this time famousthat Gilbert had been secretly working on the game for the past two years.
