Android users can quickly clear search history for the last 15 minutes

While users of the Google iOS app have been able to use this feature since last summer, the feature to delete the last 15-minute search history is only now appearing on Android smartphones. This is possible with just a few clicks.

The corresponding option is shown in the official Google app on Android (the icon looks like a big colored letter G). After that, it is enough to click on the profile photo and select “Delete the last 15 minutes” under the “Search history” button.

Google already offers options to quickly clear your entire search history, or to automatically clear history from the last 3, 18, or 36 months. In addition, users can manually delete the history of individual searches. This is convenient, but not in cases where only data about the last search session needs to be deleted.

It is worth noting that once deleted, the history disappears on all devices to which the account is linked – from smartphones to tablets or Chromebooks. However, you cannot clear history from other Google apps. While it is known that the update is not yet available for all users, the opportunity will gradually appear for different groups of users. Whether there will be a similar feature for desktop computers will be known later.
