Android 14 gets AI that generates replies to messages

Google introduced an AI model for Android 14 that will be able to generate text based on the user’s previous messages. In return, Pixel smartphones will also get an AI that will be able to create unique desktop wallpapers using text prompts.

Magic Compose is a new feature for the stock Android Messages app that allows the user to reply with neural network suggested replies. The function can use the Grammarly service and style the text for the message to sound better”meager” And “professionallyor even imitate a certain style. The company says a beta test of the feature will be available this summer.

As part of a Pixel exclusive next month, Google will add AI to create background images based on user-entered text descriptions. The company also says it has a new variant of “cinematic wallpaperwhich use on-device machine learning models to convert user photos into 3D images that “come to life when you unlock or tilt your mobile device”.

This additional optimization will likely be part of a larger theme in Android 14 when the platform launches later in the year. The company claims users will be able to “Customize your lock screen with new shortcuts and a beautifully designed clock‘, and also apply a monochrome color palette.
